About Me
I am a coach, runner and guide based in Cumbria, on the southern edge of the Lake District fells. The guiding principle that underpins everything I do is that we are all capable of more than we think. My job is to help you decide what you want to achieve, believe that goal is possible, and then bring it to life.

My athletes span the full spectrum of age, pace and experience; from mid-20s to 70s, and from couch-to-5k to multiday ultras. I work with many people who are trying something new for the first time, whether it's running in general, a first marathon or a first ultra.

My own running has been a rollercoaster journey (with apologies for the cliché), beginning as a reluctant couch-to-5k runner, through road running, marathons, Champs qualifying times, the transition to trail and fell running, and slowly but steadily building ultrarunning experience and skills into regular top-10 finishes. There have been a lot of ups and downs, and a fair few setbacks and injuries; my wide experience of the running world in all its technicolour complexity brings real-life experience and empathy to my coaching.

If you'd like to read more about my origin story, you can find it here (a piece written when I began coaching professionally in 2021), and there's a timeline of my development as a runner and coach here.
